By Mitch “Yipee!” Keeler Now I know many of us have used Google’s section a time or two, and maybe even submitted our own site map to it. Did you know though that you can do the same with Yahoo! search? The is one way to make sure that Yahoo! knows you are on the web and ready to be indexed. One really cool thing is that they allow you to submit your RSS feed to be crawled too. You can also setup dynamic URLs. There are up to three dynamic parameters that you want Yahoo! to treat specially whenever these are seen in URLs belonging to your web site in question. Think of it as redirects that only Yahoo! can see. All in all, I would say the is another “site stuff” bookmark you should be sure to submit yourself to.

Thinking of registering a domain with the hot keywords “web hosting?” Sure you are. I can read your mind. Well, I was bored today and thought I’d search and see what web hosting domains were available. So, to start my quest, I visited Godaddy and typed in webhosting .com into the search… Looks like I’m about 15 years too late on that one. Some clever soul reserved webhosting.com back in January 1993 when I was in the fetal stages of Internet growth. Can’t say I’m surprised. If you are, I’ve got some .info’s over in Iceland that I’d like to sell you:). Have you noticed that just about any occurence of the word webhosting + any valuable keyword has been registered by domainers, SEO’s or individual businesses? But what I really wanted to see was what results the Godaddy domain suggestion tool would offer as alternatives. Here’s what came up: Is this sad or what? Some of the premium domain names aren’t that bad but look how expensive they are! The additional domains, those at regular prices, are the worst of the crop, wouldn’t you say? I mean, who wants to start a web site called “Web Hosting Store” or “Net Life Hosting.” Also, maybe it’s just me, but doesn’t it seem strange to have the world online and hosting together in the same domain name? So what’s a web hosting sitebuilder to do? I know you’re out there so please speak up and liberate us from the prospect of buying a bad domain.

By Mitch “The Marketeer” Keeler I think you should get your name out there anywhere and everywhere you can. I hate that AT&T commercial where the British-sounding guy is “trying to find the Internet”, the great thing for them though is that even though I hate it I have seen it so many times I have picked up on the commercial’s main purpose. It is for AT&T’s wireless Internet services. You can use the various social networks in the same way.. hopefully you will be less annoying about it. Join up, toss your links in there and do your best to use the service to build new friendships, followers and fans. I know with my own presence on both MySpace and Facebook - I have entries from my RSS feed going right into my profile so now that group of people I used to go to high school with can now see just about everything I publish. These are eyeballs seeing my content that would not have without spreading out to the social web. Finally this all comes down to, well what do you have to lose? So maybe you don’t get any followers or dedicated fanboys knocking on your virtual social door. You have gained a few more links back, and you now have a new place where people can find you. Your creating a new path to yourself so if somebody stumbles upon it they know exactly where to look for more. On the other side if things go well, then you might be able to get in better communication and contact with those who like what you do with your own web site and well, having fans is never a bad thing.
There is no doubt in my mind that social networks of all shapes and sizes help, not hurt, you when it comes to building your own name, presence and fan fallowing with your web site. You have your MySpace, your Facebook, your Twitter and more.

And we couldn’t be more excited! have changed a bit to include mention of the exact schedule for voting and submissions (also noted below) as well as voting by Lunarpages Staff, ensuring all votes are tracked and accounted for. The prizes, however, are just as juicy ;) Entering is just as simple as before – just and you’re in.
